From the stage to the classroom, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities programs instill students with a passion for learning, and foundation for critical thinking, artistic inventiveness, and cultural awareness, that lasts a lifetime. These invaluable skills serve our graduates well in career fields that are vast and varied.

Excelsior Community College’s early reputation was established through its strength in the arts and humanities and this is being further developed through the Schools of Study in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.

 

The Faculty comprises three Schools of Study that work collaboratively under the leadership of a Dean to develop its academic mission and provide support for staff and students.

Principal's Message

For five decades, Excelsior Community College has stood as a beacon of knowledge, a centre of opportunity, and a catalyst for transformation in the lives of thousands. Our history is rich with stories of perseverance, excellence, and achievement—stories that continue to inspire and guide us. We proudly stand on the shoulders of those who laid the foundation for this great institution—our founder, the Hon. Dr. A. Wesley Powell, along with visionary leaders, dedicated faculty, committed staff, and loyal alumni. Their contributions have shaped the institution we know today, and for that, we remain deeply grateful. While we honour our past, we are equally committed to embracing the present.
